"Her enigmatic vocals are entrancing and filled with plenty of catchy hooks."

More Elliphant More Elliphant

Tonight's a double-feature Scandinavian team-up and first is Swedish up-and-comer Elliphant. Giving it everything she's got, her performance is ferociously empowering as she serves up her Jamaican-flavoured rap and instantly our hands are up in the air.

It's her first time in Melbourne and shows us her badarse moves on Boom Your Head with plenty of in-your-face attitude and fierce, raspy vocals. Exuding a raw and infectious energy, she shows us her 'wild game' on Booty Killah and plays her festival song, Live Till I Die, which has everyone clapping along.

The provocative pop musician spreads her mantra ("blisseh") and takes a moment to share some words of wisdom about being grateful for what we are blessed with. "Put yourself where you need to be!" she shouts as she radiates her emphatic positivity upon us.

Like a true Dane, , aka Karen Marie Ørsted, takes her punctuality very seriously and starts right on time. Sporting her trademark high bun hairstyle and crop top, she's ready to get stuck into it as she bursts onto the stage and dances around with crazy high-energy moves. Her enigmatic vocals are entrancing and filled with plenty of catchy hooks to entice us to join in with her unapologetically weird dancing. Schooling us in some Danish, Ørsted lets us know her pop persona translates to Maiden and is also the name of her second track.

Her musical style is innovative and blends a range of genres to create a cohesive and accessible sound. She slows things down with Dust Is Gone and an emotional coming-of-age song that she doesn't play very often called Gone And Found. As a self-confessed Spice Girls fanatic, she shares her first and only cover, Say You'll Be There, with her own stripped-back version of the girl power '90s classic.

She makes a strong connection with the audience and gets right in among the action. Just like a scene out of Coyote Ugly, she moves up to the bar for New Year's Eve and gets up close and personal with her fans. finally calls up her co-headliner and best friend Elliphant to join forces on their super catchy collaboration One More. The Nordic ladies share a strong connection to their music and to each other that culminates in a lengthy embrace.

For the grand finale  concludes the show with her infectious Major Lazer collaboration, Lean On, launching herself into the moshpit and crowd-surfing over us during the final chorus of the supercharged electronic dance anthem.
