No doubt, much of this EP is legless, late-night fanfare.

No doubt, much of this EP is legless, late-night fanfare.

But The Presets’ Kim Moyes animates the repetitive techno shtick without irking sober listeners. Casiopea’s optimistic, celestial backing tones and the title track’s nasal synth bursts demonstrate his capacity for well-practised, subtle details. The latter’s bass bounce certainly doesn’t disappoint, either. These urgent, futuristic beats are fluttering but bold; sure to appeal to our seedier sides. The softly jarring Frozen takes a starkly different approach, however, slithering and swimming past eerie bells and cerebral oozes. A slick, mature closer. He plays Style Wars (Falls Creek), 1 Sep.
