Definitely worth being squished against a fan for

More Karl S Williams More Karl S Williams

One person's "spaghetti Western" music is another's enlightened, twang-heavy alt-country.

And, depending on how you feel about that pair of hyphenated words above will probably largely influence your love for the gloriously bearded Karl S Williams. Still, The Press Club is jammed so full the only viable eyeline to the stage is through an industrial-size fan (which, thankfully, isn't moving), so it's not like this entire room of people is likely to be wrong.

Williams emits a gentility that nonetheless roughens at the fringes, the odd violent strum or ambitious note artistically scratching the otherwise sparklingly polished surface of his expertly executed set. Definitely worth being squished against a fan for, if you're into it - which half of BIGSOUND evidently is.
