More Kacy Hill More Kacy Hill

A mesmeric, swooning, stunning pop songstress: is there anything more zeitgeist capturing?

Kacy Hill, equipped with her Kanye co-sign, is so 2017 that she's easily dismissed as a passing blip. That would be a mistake. The record's opener and title track has echoes of the sparse, ghostly The Weeknd debut, House Of Balloons. Keep Me Sane soars into Kate Bush-style maximum overdrive. Arm's Length is boppy and rhythmic. In lesser hands it would be 'on hold' music. Handled adroitly, as it is here, its subtlety can be embraced and its beats jived to. Satisfying stuff. Could easily have been otherwise.
