"Made In Japan has always been a contentious release."

More Deep Purple More Deep Purple

Made In Japan
has always been a contentious release. For the majority of Purple fans, it's a sacred testament to the band's live prowess and dedication to making each show unique. A second group views the double LP as a self-indulgent exercise in tedium that takes Purple classics and stretches them to unlistenability. If you're in the second group the extras found here on this deluxe edition – mainly different versions of Black Night and Speed King – won't change your mind. For those wanting to hear Purple at their experimental live best, this is the definitive version.
