Lessons With Luis: By Myself

"The show is at times challenging, always adventurous and far from the ordinary."

Lessons With Luis hasn't dramatically changed since their 2012 Raw Comedy winning performance, however certain aspects have been refined. Len, Luis's father has momentarily gone and his brother Luelin, now reluctantly shares the spotlight. Though the show is titled By Myself, it is Luelin who is the real star, playing the deadpan sidekick and never breaking character throughout the performance. The jokes aren't funny, the costumes are hideous and the puppet show doesn't even make sense. It's car crash comedy at its finest. With one eye constantly on Luis and the other watching the body language of a reviewer squirm in his seat opposite me, the show is at times challenging, always adventurous and far from the ordinary; therein lies its endearing charm.
