She successfully builds a real feeling of safety in the space, given that inviting audience members to share guilty secrets could easily bring up some unpleasant moments.

Cal Wilson Is Guilty is a sweet show by an adorable comic. Wilson has a warm and strong stage presence; she's confident, quick-witted and very likeable. She stitches together anecdotes of her family life with a bit of Kiwiana and her own guilty confessions to create a funny, personal show. She successfully builds a real feeling of safety in the space, given that inviting audience members to share guilty secrets could easily bring up some unpleasant moments. There was a right eejit in the front row the night I went and she handled him beautifully. The force of Wilson's personality, her take on life's little moments, her cute accent and the trust and rapport she builds with her audience make for a really nice ride to Nostalgia City. Wilson's the sort of girl you could take home to meet the parents and this is the sort of show to bring them to.
