More Cat Canteri More Cat Canteri

After keeping time over three albums with Melbourne bumpkins The Stillsons, Cat Canteri kicks the drum stool aside and takes centre stage on an assured solo debut two years in the gentle assembling.

The welcome mat is laid out for all and even those averse to a little country are made comfortable. Things are kept rustic with splashes of post-rock (instrumental Giovanna is a tender highlight) and folk-indie. Canteri’s pillow-soft vocals often sound like bedtime stories for the young at heart, with vivid soul-baring set amongst the whimsical wordplay.
