Album Review: Asgeir - In The Silence

One in ten Icelanders are apparently published authors, so it's no wonder Ásgeir Trausti's debut is as romantic and evocative as the music we've come to expect from the isolated nation. In The Silence is the English translation of an album that has achieved household status in his homeland. The whole record is irrevocably attached to a sense of location, images of fjords and snowstorms throughout, but you're drawn in by Trausti's empathetic voice, both lyrically and aurally, as well as his delicate and honest treatment of such poetic songs.
