More Jimi Goodwin More Jimi Goodwin

Clicking play for the first time on Doves' singer Jimi Goodwin's debut is like opening the door to an old friend you haven't seen for a couple of years. A bit ramshackle and with a face full of fuzz, he's sounding a bit roughed-up since last you met. A discernible departure from his previous work – particularly the Goldfinger-esque horns of Man V Dingo, which stagger about like an alcoholic James Bond after a three-day vodka binge – Odludek finds Goodwin sounding like he's still getting to grips with managing on his own.
