"Maximo Park will always be an emotional band; they’re so good at it."

Maximo Park are almost always a band you can set your watch to. Since 2005's A Certain Trigger, their unique style – one of powerful synth-fuelled rock – has been the platform of four albums, with lyricism and emotiveness being their catchcry. Sure enough, opener Give, Get, Take seems to continue the theme. But then you hear Brain Cells, a dark ode to '80s new wave, and it's clear that sadness and loss is Too Much Information's theme, compared to The National Health's social anger. Maximo Park will always be an emotional band; they're so good at it.
