Comprising a solid, wholly retro, rockabilly sound, The ReChords don’t re-jig or adapt the genre, feeding on nostalgia rather than innovation.

Comprising a solid, wholly retro, rockabilly sound, The ReChords don't re-jig or adapt the genre, feeding on nostalgia rather than innovation. The slower title track is a toe-tapping example of old school country-rock and its swaggering, wandering vocals perhaps long for a simpler era of rock'n'roll. This sound seems more likely to have grown from a barn somewhere in rural America's past rather than in current-day Melbourne. But maybe that's why this EP works; its unauthenticity underpinning the fact that it feels so genuine – like the soundtrack to a square dance or a '50s diner.
