Fourteen adrenaline-fuelled tracks that would be utterly perfect for drunken bouts of Guitar Hero, if that were still a thing.

Hey there, film-goer! Did you love The Avengers? Do you like to rock out, but only on the condition that you can also have your cock out? Then holy crap, will you dig the shit out of this compilation. We're talking 14 adrenaline-fuelled tracks that would be utterly perfect for drunken bouts of Guitar Hero, if that were still a thing.

Soundgarden start the show with their first new song in 15 years, Live To Rise. This song is '90s as hell, right down to its shredding guitar solo, backed by chunky riffage and its super insightful chorus refrain: “Like the sun, we will live to rise.” Fuck yeah, we will. Who's pumped? Good, because Shinedown are up next with their hilariously dramatic contribution, I'm Alive. Rise Against offer a semi-respectable outing in Dirt And Roses before Papa Roach have their turn at bat with their electro-dappled headbanger, Even If I Could, and Black Veil Brides take a bash at the anthemic with Unbroken. Scott Weiland, however, apparently missed the memo to bring the fury, instead filling his slot with slow-burn alt-rock balladry in Breath.

As you progress through the assortment of acts that includes names such as Bush, Evanescense, Buckcherry, Five Finger Death Punch and Kasabian, you'll be struck by two things: firstly, it is totally possible for 14 different bands to sound frighteningly alike and, secondly, not one of these songs has anything to do with being a super-hero, outside of the fact that maybe they would make good backing music if you were ever to walk away from an explosion in slow motion. But what are the odds of that ever happening?
