More Abbath More Abbath

On his very first solo album Abbath proves that he was the songwriting heart of Immortal.

Here the corpse-painted one delivers an album that could have snugly fitted into his old band's discography. More Sons Of Northern Darkness than Battles In The North (not to mention hints of the dirty Motorhead-styled stomp of his I project on the likes of Winter Bane), this material is epic, gritty and even joyous all at the same time. Melding raw black metal with the melodic flourishes of classic metal on the likes of Fenrir Hunts and the winter-obsessed Root Of The Mountain, Abbath proves that despite the drama in his life he remains lord of Blashyrkh.
