How long has the studio been running? The Grove Studios was built by Garry Gary Beers from INXS in the late '90s. In its early years, artists such as Silverchair, Eskimo Joe, Kasey Chambers, Delta Goodrem and The Whitlams made successful albums here.

What makes your studio different? It's also a place to get away to focus on your creative project. We have incredible producers that choose to work at The Grove Studios because of the space and gear.
What’s your favourite piece of equipment you have in the studio and why? It's hard to choose one, we have our immaculate SSL console, one of the best Studer tape machines and a huge selection of rare vintage synths and outboard gear.
Do you find you specialise in specific genres? Not really, we have all different genres coming through our door. Electronic to rock. We've had Tkay Maizda, Alison Wonderland, Birds Of Tokyo, DMA'S, DZ Deathrays, The Delta Riggs and Vera Blue to name a few.
Who have been your favourite artist(s) to come in and why? There are a few, Daniel Johns and Luke Steele was a great collaboration in the studio and so much talent! It's always great having Alison Wonderland around!
What do believe has been the most well produced album of 2016 so far and why? Olympia's latest album, Creed, it's extremely beautiful and so modern. The production is exceptional.
What services does your studio offer? We offer recording, mixing, mastering, pre-production, production. We have accommodation that suits any of these services to really assist artists to focus on their project. You can create in a luxurious, resort-style studio!
Do you prefer analogue or digital (and why)? It depends what I am producing/mixing but they both definitely have their benefits. I like to combine the two in most projects.
Who would be your dream artist to have record/rehearse in the studio? Prince. Just to be witness to that much creativity and talent. He was such a unique talent in that he could write, produce, create, he could do it all.
You have an open day coming up, what will the main objective of the day be? Our open day is on Saturday, 4 June from 10am-2pm. We have our third diploma intake in July so anyone interested should come up, see the amazing facilities, meet the industry leading lecturers and staff and enjoy some live music, a sausage sizzle and networking opportunities. It will be a great day!
