A broken foot ain't enough to dampen The Meanies' tour of Aus.
Can't remember the last time The Meanies had made it across the continent to get to the world's most remote city but we were all loving the idea of treading the boards again. Hell, even our first rehearsal since July '13 was enjoyable.
Stupid hotel didn't have our rooms ready so it was lucky our amazing publicist had arranged a chat with RTRFM so that helped ease the pain of not being able to go straight back to bed... Here we are in the record store next door to the station. The tall guy behind us was a little alien to us at first but we warmed to him.
I always thought The Meanies was an unusual name for a punk band but it grew on me like a mould and now I couldn't imagine not being a Meanie. Besides, Wally Meanie sounds a lot better than Wally Hideous or Wally Aborted. Both bands I might add were awesome though, even if their names did scare me a little.
We initially thought these were cheesy treats when we first saw them but alas, they're eardrum protection devices. Link, being the strong advocate of looking after one's self, insisted on taking them.

Adelaide too had waited a long time to see The Meanies perform and Jive was the perfect place for it. Great venue, venue owner is lovely, it's split level, the upstairs is becoming a record bar pretty soon, a vinyl store where you can drink whilst listening to your fave tracks through a freakin' PA!
Pretty cool how Adelaide really lays it on for us every time... As you can see, they'd missed us.
We stayed at Pete The Stud from ProTools and Bloodsucking Freaks infamy. His wife Arrow is a chef. We were pretty stoked with her herbs and spices collection and how they were kept. Well, I know I was...
A fantastic weekend of shows were somewhat soured by Link fracturing his foot. For an hour or so, our illustrious leader forgot he was 45 and not 25 but geez it made for an entertaining show, the Adelaide crowd rather rabid, baying for more. Poor foot though. Never fear, the remaining shows will go on, he just may not be moving as freely as usual, if at all!
