More Paul Weller More Paul Weller

UK music legend Paul Weller has confirmed he will be heading to Australia for two huge headline concerts in 2018.

The Jam and The Style Council frontman will hit Sydney next January and play two shows at Sydney Opera House; his debut gigs at the iconic venue.

"It's not often I get to program someone who's changed my dress sense and been an influence since I was a teenager but Paul Weller is it," Head of Contemporary Music at Sydney Opera House, Ben Marshall, said.

"I discovered The Jam along with The Clash and The Specials in my late teens' discovery of punk/post-punk music and that band hit me hard. An older friend who'd been a scooter boy in the UK introduced me to Northern Soul, The Style Council & Weller's then-new solo album Wild Wood and I was converted.

"Through his bands and his restless 25 years – and counting – solo career, Paul Weller's impact on modern music is undisputed. It's a genuine honour to welcome him to the Concert Hall for his Sydney Opera House debut performing his only two Australian shows."
