Star DJ spoke at Electronic Music Conference

Veteran Dutch DJ Tiësto won't be filling his dancefloors with R&B crossover bangers anytime soon, he said at today's Electronic Music Conference.

The inaugural event – run as part of the ARIA Week celebrations – had billed the superstar DJ, real name Tijs Verwest, as one of the first day's key speakers. With a lot of the conversation surrounding the 'EDM' explosion in American, Tiësto admitted that he'll be taking full advantage by relocating to New York for 2013.

He then quipped that he'll still leave those crossover hits “to David Guetta and Calvin Harris.”

Another highlight of day one was when DJ Gina Turner revealed that Laidback Luke & Steve Aoki's Turbulence (featuring Lil Jon) has usurped classic hip hop tunes as the closing track of choice at bar mitzvahs.
