And it's coming to a TV near you next week!

More The Seekers More The Seekers

Taking the world by storm in the '60s, The Seekers were really the first Australian band to make it internationally, paving the way for others to follow. Now, over 50 years since their initial split, on the back of a record deal to release material including their final tour, the band are set to appear in their first TV documentary.

Airing on ABC's Australian Story next Monday 8 April, A World Of Their Own will feature all four band members - Athol Guy, Bruce Woodley, Judith Durham and Keith Potger - as they "discuss their music, the impact of sudden fame and the painful fallout from their famous parting".

The first Australian band to get a number one hit in the US with the iconic Georgy Girl, the band garnered praise from all over the world. "They were unlike anyone else,” recalls Bert Newton. “The Seekers [were] a totally different band.”

The new program, produced by Jennifer Feller, will also reportedly include interviews with those who witnessed their rise and previously unreleased material from the outfit's personal archive, including audio recordings of their first reunion session and Super 8 footage shot behind the scenes.

A World Of Their Own screens on ABC Monday 8 April at 8pm.
