Darwin five-piece have Stories to tell

More At The Dakota More At The Dakota

Darwin indie-groove-pop five-piece At The Dakota took out the People's Choice category for NT Song of the Year with their first single, Stumptail, lifted from their debut EP, Stories. They launched the EP in their hometown in July, and now they're taking it to a few other parts of the country with a huge national tour through Oct presented by The Music.

Among their influences At The Dakota cite the likes of Incubus, Kings of Leon and Cold War Kids, despite their laidback very Territorian "beers on the beach on a Sunday afternoon" attitude.

Sporting five songwriters - each member has a sizeable history performing a variety of bands around Darwin over the past few years - the band, co-founded by singer and guitarist Dylan Podsiadly, only began writing for the EP mid-last year.
