The Dandy Warhols Announce 2024 Australian Tour

American alternative rock band The Dandy Warhols are returning to Australia and New Zealand in April 2024 in celebration of their upcoming album, Rockmaker, set for release in March 2024.

And if we really want to pat ourselves on the back, Australia and New Zealand are the first locations on the Rockmaker world tour. Check out the band’s new single, Summer Of Hate, below.

The tour kicks off at the Powerstation in Auckland before the US outfit heads to Brisbane’s The Tivoli on Thursday, 25 April, followed by shows at The Gov in Adelaide on Friday, 26 April, The Forum in Melbourne on Sunday, 28 April, Perth’s Astor Theatre on Monday, 29 April, and ends at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Wednesday, 1 May.

The Dandy Warhols have found mainstream success in Australia, including their 2000 hit Bohemian Like You, landing at #10 on that year’s triple j Hottest 100 (Get Off also featured at #49). In 2003, We Used To Be Friends came in at #13, while Bohemian Like You appeared another two times – on the 20th anniversary of the Hottest 100 in 2013 (#51) and the Hottest 100 of All Time in 2009 (#85).

The Dandy Warhols last toured Australia alongside Hoodoo Gurus in September 2022, but their last headline slot down under was in November 2019.

“Australia has had a love affair with The Dandy Warhols for some time, and that showed with the large audience in attendance and the fact that we rank as their third most attended country after the US and UK dating back to the mid-'90s,” The Music reviewer Mick Radojkovic remarked upon seeing the Dandys as the surprise special guest for the Hoodoo Gurus last year.

Radojkovic continued, “The Portlander four-piece have been consistently releasing music for over 25 years and are still delivering a live show worthy of the price of admission, but you get the feeling that a short support set doesn’t tell the full story of what this group are trying to say.” Well, now it’s time to finally hear everything The Dandy Warhols have to say.
