The Breeders have announced their first Australian tour in five long, exhausting years, slating a short run of theatre shows along the east coast.

The tour will kick off on Monday January 22, when the Dayton, Ohio alt-rockers will play the Enmore Theatre in Eora/Sydney. They’ll head to Naarm/Melbourne next – taking over The Forum exactly a week later (January 29) – before wrapping up at The Tivoli in Meanjin/Brisbane that Wednesday (January 31).

Tickets for all three shows will go onsale at 11am local time next Tuesday (October 11), with a pre-sale kicking off at the same time a day earlier (October 10) – head here to sign up for the presale, or bookmark this link for the general sale.

The excursion acts as somewhat of a detour for The Breeders’ upcoming tour of New Zealand, where they’re set to open for the Foo Fighters.

The last time the band were seen Down Under, they were touring in support of their fifth album, 2018’s All Nerve. It still marks their most recent effort, with these shows primed to offer career-spanning setlists. Last month, they issued a 30th anniversary remaster of their seminal second album, 1993’s Last Splash, which was minted from its original analogue recordings.
