More George Michael More George Michael

A 16-year-old male has been charged by police with graffiti after defacing the Sydney mural of George Michael.

According to ABC, the teenager was arrested after offices caught him defacing the Erskineville artwork with homophobic messages and crucifixes in yellow paint.

He is the second person to be charged for vandalising the mural this week.

NSW Member for Newtown, Jenny Leong, said the graffiti is "completely offensive homophobic messaging" and that they are "quite scary attempts to threaten people that are part of a community that want to celebrate difference and diversity and are celebrating a Yes vote".
