A "ripped" Pete Murray has graced the cover of the March edition of Men's Health Australia.

As the cover star, the beloved Aussie troubadour told Men's Health Australia's Dan Williams, "You see, I’m not that new guy on the block anymore. You’re not going to have that wow factor of, ‘Whoa, who’s this?’ I’ve been around. I’m not just trying to do things for my fans. That’s never what I’ve tried to do at all. I write songs that I like, and if people choose to follow me, that’s up to them."

Murray also spoke about his inspirations for keeping fit. At 18 years old, his father passed away from a heart attack at age 47. "Ever since then I’ve looked after myself. I had my heart checked a couple of years ago and it’s perfect," he said. Murray has always kept fit, but now he's ripped, thanks to a training regime by Chief and Em.

In a video posted to social media, Murray can be seen working out with the caption, "I’ve been working hard over the last few months and have had amazing results. I can’t tell you how much better I feel physically and mentally by being on a good diet and exercise plan. Thanks to Chief & Em. I’m ready to hit the road later this year!"

And hit the road, he will, as yesterday, Pete Murray announced an Australian Greatest Hits tour. This July and August, Murray will play in Melbourne, Wollongong, Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Darwin, Perth and Adelaide. Find tickets on his website, which will go on sale this Friday, 10 February.

"What an ‘opportunity’ to hit the road on my Greatest Hits tour later this year! This will be ‘so beautiful’ to play all the classics, and there are going to be ‘better days’ ahead when this happens for sure… haha. But seriously, I’m so looking forward to sharing my career’s music with all of you around the world. It’s going to be really special," Murray said in a statement.

Pete Murray is also releasing his first-ever Best Of collection, due for release on 17 May. With tracks spanning from Feeler to Always A Winner, it's the greatest hits guaranteed to please. Pre-order the purple vinyl or cd, or pre-save the album here.
