Melbourne folk-rock duo Pierce Brothers have announced their first new music in two years, along with an upcoming headline tour.

Brothers Pat and Jack Pierce will head out on a massive regional run of the country, hitting every state and territory in Australia to coincide with the release of the upcoming single, Kanko (Mountain Song).

After touring with the likes of Tash Sultana and the release of their debut album, Atlas Shoulders, the twins took an extended break from touring to focus on making more music and focus on songwriting. Now, they’re ready to head back out on the road and delight fans across the nation with new tunes.

"We’ve taken some time off touring, for the first time in about eight years and this song is about going to that place," Jack said.

"Going to be free. Finding solace and freedom in the mountain air. That’s what Kanko is, a mountain I visited in Japan. It’s also the name of my dog.”
