UPDATE 12.30pm

T-Pain's Australian promoter has confirmed to The Music today that the rapper's visa has been cleared and the tour will go ahead as planned.

He's set to kick off his Australian DJ tour this weekend, but T-Pain has revealed that the trip is in serious jeopardy, thanks to a run in with the law back in 2007.

As The Daily Telegraph reports, the US rapper has been told that a suspended driver's licence could result in him being held up at Customs when he arrives in Perth tomorrow.

"I've been there a lot but right now I’m having troubles getting there," T-Pain said in an interview with Nova yesterday.

"I guess some rules have changed and I just got a phone call an hour ago that I got in trouble with the law in 2007 and they’re, like, telling me I can't come to Australia because of that now.

"I'm trying to fix that but I don't know what is going on. Some of the shows might have to get pushed back but I'm trying to fix it.

"They're like, you got a parking ticket in 2007, you can't come here. I don't know what is going on with that right now but I'm trying."

The 31-year-old continued, "I want to come but I don’t want to go to jail and I don’t want to get over there and can't come in. That would be terrible,

"They just contacted me today and I am supposed to fly out tomorrow. It is six o'clock in the evening here so it is going to be hard to get a lawyer on the phone and send the paperwork back and forth."

The hit-maker is currently slated to play gigs in Perth, Broome, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Alice Springs, Darwin and Brisbane, as well as three New Zealand gigs, over the coming weeks.

The Music has contacted T-Pain's local promoters for comment.
