Lie down. Try not to cry. Cry a lot.

More New Found Glory More New Found Glory

In the feelgood story of the century, Floridian pop punk band New Found Glory has saved a horse mere hours before it was due to be put down. The clincher… the horse is called New Found Glory, too.

TMZ reports that the band's guitarist Chad Gilbert was trawling Twitter for fans' feedback on their current tour at 9pm one night, when he came across an advertisement for a one-year-old thoroughbred mare with "a breeder's certificate with the Jockey Club", due to be slaughtered the following morning at 10am.

After Gilbert consulted with the band, the quartet decided $350 was a very small price to pay to save young NFG and bought her, managing to get the moolah to the auctioneer just in time before the horse was due to be sent to the glue factory.

Through Freedom4Horses, they found a home for her hours later at a Texas ranch and that, folks, is a happy ending.
