Prolific guitarist and composer Marc Ribot (that's REE-bow), notable for working with such icons as Tom Waits, Allen Ginsberg, Elvis Costello and Chuck Berry, is heading to Sydney's The Vanguard for a solo performance this August.

With over 20 albums to his name, Ribot has also recorded on albums by The Black Keys and Norah Jones, in addition to film scores such as Where The Wild Things Are, Walk The Line and Everything Is Illuminated

It's no question that the man's talented — and this show on 9 August will be your only chance to catch him on his own making magic. The day before, he'll be hitting the stage at Melbourne's Supersense Festival.
