And it's a Battle Of The Brits (and Lana) on the albums chart

More Justice Crew More Justice Crew

Australian dance troupe turned pop stars Justice Crew are on track to equal a chart record held by Gotye, Savage Garden and Austen Tayshus for the most weeks at #1 on the singles chart by an Australian artist.

Justice Crew's Que Sera was a gutsy change of pace for the band and has proven to be a smash hit. Signed to Sony since they featured on the Australia's Got Talent reality TV show in 2010, the label worked hard to secure the track – written by American based Grammy-winning hitmakers The Messengers (Justin Bieber, Iggy Azalea, Cody Simpson) – for them.

The track has spent seven consecutive weeks at number one on the ARIA Singles Chart and if it can manage an eighth it will draw level with Gotye's Somebody That I Used To Know (2011), Savage Gardens Truly, Madly, Deeply (1997) and Austen Tayshus' Australiana (1983).

The single scanned just over 20,000 copies last week, slightly more than 2,000 ahead of its nearest challengers Nico & Vinz's Am I Wrong and 5 Seconds Of Summer's charging Don't Stop. Midweek figures are showing that they'll be in the mix again, as will The Madden Brothers' We Are Done, which is having a strong week thanks to their roles on Channel 9's high-rating The Voice.

Coldplay's A Sky Full Of Stars has jumped thanks to its Sydney film clip and their promo tour, while the British band's Magic and Maroon 5's Maps are also noticeable movers.

The highest debut will come from Ed Sheerans Don't thanks to the release of his new album, while we can also expect entries from Taylor Henderson's Already Gone, Andy Grammer's Back Home, Ella Henderson's Ghost, T.I. featuring Iggy Azalea's No Mediocre and Jeremih featuring YG's Don't Tell 'Em.

ALBUMS: BATTLE OF THE BRITS (AND LANA)

Two British titans will battle it out for the number one spot this week, with teen heartthrob Ed Sheeran dropping his album X and Coldplay's Ghost Stories benefiting from a strong week of on-ground promotion.

They'll have to overcome the American powerhouse that is Lana Del Rey though, whose album Ultraviolence is still posting strong sales after debuting at number one last week.

At the heavier end of the spectrum Mastodon's Once More 'Round The Sun is a top ten hope while Milky Chance's Sadnecessary and local hardcore group Confession's Life & Death are top 20 potentials.

Jennifer Lopez's AKA will debut below that, as will David Gray's Mutineers and David Campbell's David Campbell Sings John Bucchino.

The midweeks are also showing sales increases for Pharrell Williams' G I R L, Lorde's Pure Heroine, Ed Sheeran's earlier album + and OneRepublic's Native.
