The viral YouTube kids take their shot at One Direction stardom

More The Janoskians More The Janoskians

Melbourne viral pranksters The Janoskians have turned a few heads in their time – the young YouTube stars have not only attract millions of views with their public-prank antics but in July they signed to Sony Music Australia despite having shown no intention to pursue a musical career.

You can turn your head again with the news that they've had their first chart success this week, not in Australia but over in the UK. Their single Set This World On Fire has apparently caught the attention of the same hordes who would follow One Direction or Justin Bieber into battle and arrived at 91 on the UK singles chart on debut.

The group consists of brothers Beau, Jai and Luke Brooks, Daniel 'Skip' Sahyounie and James Yammouni, and on the back of this single have all of a sudden set themselves up as Australia's next tilt at boy band success. Sony will be pushing them hard in the UK market, which has been the initial breeding ground for boyband success stories in the last two years particularly.

There was also chart success in the UK for INXS this week with their classic Never Tear Us Apart re-entering at 58 and the ever-reliable Sia climbs to 11 with David Guetta on She Wolf (Falling To Pieces). Another collaboration of theirs, Titanium, rose from 69 to 63 as well.
