Jack White announces indefinite hiatus from live gigs

More Jack White More Jack White

If you haven’t seen Jack White live in concert before, shield your eyes.

The 39-year-old musician has announced on his website that he will cease performing indefinitely at the conclusion of his current tour.

The statement simply reads: “Jack is announcing that he will be taking a break from performing live for a long period of time”.

It goes on to say that after wrapping up his Coachella performances this week, the popular musician will embark on a short acoustic tour across just five states in the US, however those states are yet to be announced and will only be done so on the day of the performance.

And to rub salt in to the wounds of fans living outside of America, punters are in for a bargain with the concerts set to cost them just $3 a ticket.

Music fans will just have to wait and hope that White returns to the stage in the near future, who has not yet announced any plans moving forward.

However, given the success of last year's solo effort, Lazaretto, we can't imagine him being gone away for too long.

The last time The White Stripes front man graced our shores was in 2012 for Splendour In The Grass, which ironically enough released this years line up today.
