US talk show The Colbert Report begins its annual music festival tonight with fun..

The show, fronted by US conservative pundit pisstaker Stephen Colbert, screens in Australia on The Comedy Channel, weeknights at 7.30.

The festival, dubbed StePhest ColbChella '012: Rockaugustfest, has attracted an impressive array of talent. The four-night festival kicks off with fun. tonight and tomorrow night features Grizzly Bear with Santigold appearing on Thursday night's edition and Flaming Lips on Friday night. Grandmaster Flash is cited as the festival's guest DJ.

The performances were actually filmed last week aboard the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York as a nod to the upcoming Coachella Cruise.
