The sixth record from the great American songwriter is streaming in full all week.

More Josh Ritter More Josh Ritter

Josh Ritter releases his sixth album, The Beast In Its Tracks, this week and we have it streaming in full to get you excited about it hitting shelves around the country this Friday.

You might have heard that Ritter and his wife Dawn Landes split a little while ago and Ritter says that he found, in the year following this sad event, he had written more songs than ever before. There are themes of happiness, of spite and of remorse - a real gamut of different emotional feelings - through TheBeast In Its Tracks, making it one of the most honest records we've heard in a while.

It's not all heart-on-sleeve though, Ritter's brilliance as a lyricist sparkles as much as ever and while it may be cathartic for the artist, it doesn't feel self-indulgent.
