More 360 More 360

360's new video for his latest single Drugs is a full-out cinematic experience and now the rapper has given theMusic.com.au an exclusive sneak peek at what went on behind-the-scenes.

The clip features Aussie actor Firass Dirani as one half of a passionate but doomed couple that goes to hell and back on intoxicant-fuelled misadventures that may or may not end up with someone in the trunk of a car.

“I'm super grateful that Firass was into the song and keen to be involved. He's a great actor. It was really dope to witness how someone from a completely different world (acting) would approach their craft,” 360 told The Music.

“The relationship he has in the video represents the stages an addict goes through in their addiction. It starts out all fun and games, romantic, playful and then slowly gets more and more toxic until it eventually throws him over the edge.”

The clip’s storyline mirrors the deeply personal yet masterfully subtle message that the rapper infused into the song, a standout from his wildly-acclaimed album Modern Vintage.

“When I wrote the song Drugs, I didn't want it to be super direct. I wanted to talk about what alcohol can do to people, but not to come across preachy,” 360 said.

“So I wrote it as if alcohol was a person; and a hitman at that. It was important for me that we didn't make the video in the same way either. I didn't want it to be super obvious and play out what I was rapping about.”

The combination of the song’s message and the video’s storyline combine to create a visual experience that is able to reach viewers in different ways, a feature that 360 applauds.

“I like that a lot of it can be open to interpretation, though. What it means for me might be something totally unique for someone else, I love that.”

360’s Vintage Modern Australian tour with special guest PEZ kicks off this Friday (2 March) in Sydney; for more information, head to theGuide.
