More Dean Lewis More Dean Lewis

It’s been over three years since Dean Lewis released his debut studio album, A Place We Knew, but the Sydney songwriter has finally revealed when fans can expect the second record.

On a new episode of The Plug with Neil Griffiths podcast, Lewis said he wants to release the album before his European tour in September and the following Australian run in November.

“The rough date… I think it’s around September,” Lewis told Griffiths.

“It’s gotta come out before the European tour.”

He continued: “There’s a lot of ‘I miss you, I love you’ songs, there’s a song about my Dad… there’s a song about some deeper stuff, but there’s also a lot of heartbreak songs which I guess I’m sort of known for.

"I’m just really proud of it.”

Following its release in March 2019, A Place We Knew debuted at #1 on the Australian Albums Chart and was nominated for three ARIA Awards, including Best Album. It featured global hit single Be Alright which topped charts around the world and hit over a billion streams by June of that year.

On The Plug podcast episode, the multiple ARIA Award-winning artist shared that there will be 10 tracks on the forthcoming record and that he also plans to begin writing a third album between now and his European tour.

“I want to go quite quickly into another one… my plan is to try and get the next album sort of half done before I get to Europe,” he revealed.

“That’s my plan right now, fingers crossed.”
