Melbourne punk rock favourites Clowns have been forced to postpone their upcoming Australian tour – scheduled to take place in October and November – due to “long-term and ongoing injury”.

According to a social media post shared by the band yesterday (31 August), a member of Clowns has been dealing with a long-term and ongoing RSI injury (repetitive strain injury that often affects the hands, wrists, forearms, shoulders, elbows, etc.). Because of the damage, the band member needs time to heal and recover.

As well as postponing their Australian tour, Clowns are also cancelling the remainder of their 2022 tour dates.

The band have assured fans who have already bought tickets that their purchase will be valid for the new dates, but if they can no longer make it, to contact their point of sale and get a refund. The new dates will take place in March and April 2024.

“We're very sorry for the disappointment and inconvenience,” the band wrote on Instagram. “It's so frustrating to not be able to play and launch this new record that we're extremely proud of and we appreciate you all understanding of the difficult situation.”

The group’s upcoming Australian tour will arrive in support of their new album, ENDLESS, which is set to drop on Friday, 20 October – you can pre-order vinyl bundles or single records here

Clowns describe their new music as “an unrelenting journey of immortality and human exploration”.

The album will be released through Clowns’ independently run record label, Damaged, in Australia and New Zealand and via the revered punk record label Fat Wreck Chords in all other territories. Clowns are officially the second Australian punk band to join the famous 30-year-old label behind the legendary Frenzal Rhomb.

Clowns’ labelmates, Voiid, still join them on all tour dates except Perth. Unfortunately, the band will no longer visit Alice Springs on the upcoming run, but they promise to announce a new show soon.
