More Clowns More Clowns

Melbourne punk rock outfit Clowns are back with Bisexual Awakening, the second single from their upcoming fifth album, Endless – the first single, Formaldehyde, was released a few weeks ago.

The band’s follow-up to 2019’s Nature/Nurture, Clowns haven’t lost any of their grit, energy or ferocity. If anything, they sound as raucous as ever.

Bisexual Awakening arrives with a provocative music video (as required with the lyrical content, if you ask us). It lasts just one minute and 49 seconds, paying homage to the five-piece’s hardcore punk roots.

Vocalist Stevie Williams said about the track, “Over the years, I've come to fully realise the multi-dimensionality of my sexuality.

“I was inspired to write a punk song that celebrates the support and community I found during moments of self-discovery in our classic tongue-in-cheek way. Plus, I wanted to see what would happen if I wrote a song about fucking people’s dads.” Check out the music video below.

Endless is set to drop on Friday, 20 October – you can pre-order vinyl bundles or single records here. Endless was written throughout 2020 and 2022 and represents the band members’ unwavering dedication and perseverance to their craft and each other, no matter the hurdles of Covid-19 and lockdowns.

Clowns describe their new music as “an unrelenting journey of immortality and human exploration”.

The album will be released through Clowns’ independently run record label, Damaged, in Australia and New Zealand and via the revered punk record label Fat Wreck Chords in all other territories. Clowns are officially the second Australian punk band to join the famous 30-year-old label behind the legendary Frenzal Rhomb.

To celebrate new music, Clowns are embarking on their first Australian headline tour since 2019 with labelmates Voiid – the Melbourne show takes place on the day Endless is released. Tickets are on sale via the Clowns website.
