Uber-producer Blood Orange, otherwise known as Devonté Hynes, has created his first original film for one of the big features at this year's Sydney Film Festival, Palo Alto.

Hynes wrote and performed the entire score for the Gia Coppola movie, which stars James Franco and Emma Roberts, with April's Bathroom Bummer a taste of what to expect musically from the film.

Hynes' work will also feature on Palo Alto's official soundtrack, along with songs by Rober Schwartzman, Coconut Records and Nat & Alex Wolff.

The film will premiere at SFF on Thursday 12 June and is presented by The Music.

And in other SFF news, five more features have been added to the program today, each of which were screened at the recent Cannes Film Festival. Tickets are on sale now for screenings of Winter Sleep, Mommy, The Salt Of The Earth, Timbuktu and When Animals Dream.
