More Billy Connolly More Billy Connolly

Veteran Scottish comedian Billy Connolly will return to Australia for an 11-date run of shows in January and February, it has been announced.

It's been more than 35 years since Connolly's first visit Down Under, and just less than 20 since his unforgettable World Tour Of Australia series, but the legendary funnyman remains an overwhelmingly popular concern on the international stand-up circuit as new earrs and eyes are drawn to his distinctly Scottish, always over-the-top, stream-of-consciousness style of joke-telling.

In addition to his stand-up work, Connolly has been a growing presence on the big screen in recent years. After early sporadic cinematic appearances in features such as The Boondock Saints (1999) and 2001's regrettable The Man Who Sued God, Connolly has gone on to appear in films such as Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events (2004), Gulliver's Travels (2010) and acclaimed 2012 dramedy Quartet.

He's also been spending time developing his artistic tendencies, with Connolly's work having been put on exhibition at several galleries across the UK over the past couple of years — so there's no dearth of potential experiences from which he'll draw for his impending High Horse tour of Australia.
