Could The Rolling Stones headline Glastonbury in 2024? With a new albumHackney Diamonds, out on Friday, 20 October – under their belts, a legacy stage at the famous Worthy Farm music festival, and indisputable headliner status, it’s more than possible.

Discussing new music, his hopes for performing at music festivals and more, guitarist Ronnie Wood commented about the possibility of headlining Glastonbury in a recent NME interview, “Me, I’d love it. I think it’s a must.

“If not next year, then… If not the Stones, then the Faces. It’ll be me, Rod [Stewart] and [drummer] Kenney [Jones]. That’s not out of the question, you know. I know they want to do it…”

If Glastonbury Festival doesn’t book The Rolling Stones or The Faces in 2024, would 2025 be a possibility?

According to Glastonbury and Madonna fans, there’s also reason to believe that the Queen of Pop could headline the event in 2024.

The speculation began after Glastonbury co-organiser Emily Eavis posted an image to Instagram from Madonna’s Celebration stop at The O2 Arena in London and wrote, “She’s back! Incredible.”

Some followers believed that Eavis’ post was a hint about next year’s festival, commenting on her post, “Well that’s a massive hint…” and “Sunday night slot is looking BOOKED!”

The speculation would align with Eavis's previous interview with The Guardian, in which it was revealed that the 2024 edition of Glastonbury will likely be headlined by Rihanna and Madonna, two high-profile artists who have never performed at the festival. One has apparently already signed the contract.

On Hackney Diamonds, The Rolling Stones have enlisted numerous music icons as collaborators, including Sir Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Lady Gaga, Elton John and more. The album also marks the band's first work with producer Andrew Watt (Ozzy Osbourne, Miley Cyrus, Pearl Jam, Justin Bieber). You can pre-order/pre-save your copy of the album here.

Arctic Monkeys, Guns N’ Roses and Elton John headlined this year’s Glastonbury, while the undercard also featured a stacked list of names, including Lizzo, Lil Nas X, Amadou & Mariam, Joey Bada$$, Nova Twins, Rina Sawayama, Wizkid and many more.
