More Josh Pyke More Josh Pyke

Come closer aspiring musicians because the Josh Pyke Partnership is back for another year and ready to give one lucky person's career a kick-start.

The Partnership, in conjunction with APRA AMCOS, awards the recipient with a $7,500 grant to go towards their music career as well as receiving mentorship from Pyke himself, Wonderlick Entertainment’s Gregg Donovan and Select Music’s Stephen Wade.

Last year’s winner, Angie McMahon, has exploded since receiving the grant, popping up on line-ups for Laneway and Secret Garden, supporting The Shins and most recently snagging the #34 spot on the Hottest 100 with her single Slow Mover.

"This prize had a huge effect on my year because it meant I could pursue the professional goals I'd set for myself," McMahon said.

“The vote of confidence from Josh Pyke and APRA helped people believe in my music, which is very powerful, and I've been busy pursuing opportunities since receiving the prize. It felt like I'd been passed the relay baton, and then I was off and running."

To enter applicants must be unsigned to a recording or publishing company and also submit a business plan outlining how they would use the grant money.
