Good news folks!
Since the mandatory ID scanning laws were first introduced in Queensland's Safe Night Precincts last year, they have generated some pretty significant backlash.
But in good news, BIGSOUND have confirmed that delegates and punters at this year's conference will once again be able to enjoy the event free from the frustrations the laws entail.
Speaking exclusively to The Music, QMusic executive officer Joel Edmondson has confirmed the exemption saying, "Audience behaviours during BIGSOUND are a living demonstration of what happens when live music becomes the focus of a night out."

"Fortitude Valley transforms into a peaceful place full of people who are primarily there to see music, not just sit at the bar and drink.
"We invite alcohol-related violence policymakers within the Queensland Government to attend the event and see for themselves what can be achieved when arts and culture, rather than mandatory ID scanning, is used as the primary tool to change behaviour in our night precincts."
In saying that, wristbands and passes will obviously not be considered valid forms of ID, so make sure you bring your driver's licence or passport. The lack of ID scanning will also only be in official BIGSOUND venues — everywhere else, you'll still have to stand in line and face the camera.
