Congratulations!
QMusic has just announced the recipients of the 2018 BIGSOUND bursary.
Now in its second year, the bursary, provided by QMusic's donor community The Saints, covers the winner's flights, accommodation and passes to the BIGSOUND conference in September, with the winners chosen from the professional development program Industry Connect.
The winners this year include, Dylan Lindquist (Clawmachine), Laura Bamford (Laura Louise), Rob Bryant (Big Foot Mafia), Sam Krzewina, Tom Gillespie (Venice On Fire) and Victoria Jenkins (Fragile Animals).
Gillespie, who is based in Toowoomba, was rapt in the win after finding difficulties being a regional artist, and believes that "this is a magnificent chance to rise above that".

"On top of the obvious tyranny of distance, you have to work twice as hard to network, befriend and otherwise insert yourself into industry and social circles," he said.
Ipswich singer-songwriter, Krzewina, echoed Gillespie's thoughts and has faced similar challenges.
"Winning the BIGSOUND bursary gives me solid 'boots-on-the-ground' experience and first rate connections to backup all of what I learned and discovered with QMusic,” he said.
