Corona SunSets Festival Set To Return This Summer

The Corona SunSets festival is set to return to Australia this summer, taking place right on the beach itself this year in Wollongong. 

Bringing music, food, arts, market stalls, eco workshops and more, the event will take place on 1 December at North Beach in The Gong. 

Destination Wollongong General Manager Mark Sleigh sung the North Beach praises saying it "has to be one of the most spectacular festival sites in the county, with its pristine sand, towering pine trees, heritage-listed Bathers’ Pavilion and views across to Flagstaff Hill and the lighthouse".

"The beach itself hasn’t been utilised for a major music festival before but it makes perfect sense that Corona, a brand that is so intrinsically linked to beach culture, is the first to provide audiences the opportunity to immerse themselves in this unique festival experience," he said. 

Celebrating summer how they do best, the festival will also take steps to reduce single-use plastic by removing plastic bottles, cups, cutlery, plates and wristbands. 

Marketing Manager for Corona Australia, Andy Vace, said they wanted to "use this opportunity to educate all event goers on the importance of protecting these salty playgrounds from threats such as marine plastic pollution, so that our future generations can continue to enjoy them". 

The inaugural festival took place in Fremantle in 2016 bringing Duke Dumont and Flight Facilities to Western Australia for a couple of icy cold Coronas.
