The frontman has issued a statement.

More NOFX More NOFX

NOFX's Fat Mike claims the US punk band have "effectively been banned" from playing any show in the States following a "disgusting" joke they made about last year's mass shooting in Las Vegas last month.

During their Punk Rock Bowling & Music Festival set, vocalist Fat Mike mentioned the October shooting, which claimed 59 lives, saying, "at least [the victims] were country fans".

The joke was widely slammed and consequently, Stone Brewing, the company that manufactures NOFX's beer, cut ties with the band, while they were also dropped from the line-up of their Punk In Drublic music festival.

In a post published on Instagram this week, Fat Mike said, "… Every NOFX show has been cancelled in the US.

"We did not drop off the shows… we were told that NOFX is not welcome to play ANY big venue in the United States. No joke! NOFX has effectively been banned in our own country. This is not our choice, but it is our reality."

Fat Mike also claimed he is trying to bring Punk In Drublic back to the US, "but a lot of people don’t want it to happen".

"We made a mistake, we apologized, and we gotta suffer the consequences," the post continues.

"Maybe it ain’t fair, but whoever said life was."
