Australian indie-pop outfit Sheppard are primed to score the highest local debut on this week's ARIA Albums chart with their new record, Watching The Sky.

According to midweek figures, the Brisbane band's second LP is in the race for top spot on the list and should debut in the top five, where it will likely be up against last week's #1 albumKanye West's Ye and Post Malone's Beerbongs & Bentleys.

It comes after Sheppard's debut record, Bombs Away, peaked on the chart at #2 in 2014.

The top ten should get a shake-up too with Kanye West & Kid Cudi's collab, Kids See Ghost, Lily Allen's No Shame and Jorja Smith's Lost & Found all gunning for debuts in the top end.
