TV Ratings For Olivia Newton-John Biopic Plummet Following Scathing Reviews

The TV ratings for part two of Olivia Newton-John biopic, Olivia Newton-John: Hopelessly Devoted To You, have plummeted after last week's premiere episode was widely panned by critics and fans. 

As TV Tonight reports, Sunday night's episode was watched on Channel Seven by 488,000 viewers, well down on last week's figure of 735,000.

It comes after last week's episode was slammed by viewers as "very bad" and a "trainwreck", while a large amount of criticism was directed at the performance of lead actress Delta Goodrem for her portrayal of the Australian music legend.

Last night's episode was also received poorly by viewers. 

The ratings pale in comparison to other music biopics screened on the Seven network. 2014's INXS miniseries premiered to 1.91 million viewers, while the premiere episode of the Peter Allen biopic drew 1.33 million viewers and the Molly Meldrum series was watched by 1.3 million.

Goodrem enjoyed more success in her ongoing role as a judge on the Nine Network's The Voice, which drew an audience of 885,000.

The episode included well-received performances from WA Fringe Festival winner Sam Perry and former The Collective singer, Trent Bell.

#Olivia #HopelesslyDevotedToYou part 2 is already doing a good job of being worse than episode one, which is quite an achievement. It doesn't even work as camp.
