In the same week Perth artist Sam Perry blew audiences away with his audition on The Voice, the TV singing competition was gifted another industry favourite last night in the form of Alice Springs artist, Colin Lillie.

Having just this month signed a management deal with Footstomp Music/Kadence Group, the 44-year-old Scotland-born talent impressed with a cover of Cat Stevens' classic, Father & Son.

His performance scored rave reviews from the judges, with Boy George and Joe Jonas both turning their chairs; Lillie eventually chose to join Boy George's team.

Check out the performance below.

Following on from his 2016 debut album, Glass Homes, Lillie has teamed with producer Jamie Trevaskis (Robert Forster/The Gin Club) for his second LP with a release date yet to be announced.

Lillie will next perform at Victoria's National Celtic Festival in June; click on theGuide for more details.

Meanwhile, viewers of last night's episode may have also caught Melbourne songwriter Paris Wells' audition, who was unlucky to not go through to the next round.

The singer has performed in past years at Falls Festival and Big Day Out, as well as opened for the Australian  and New Zealand legs of Justin Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveShow tour in 2007.
