A slew of established and emerging talent have been nominated for Melbourne International Comedy Festival's prestigious Barry Award this year.

Launched in 1998 as the Stella Award before being renamed in 2000 to pay tribute to icon Australian comic Barry Humphries, the Barry Award recognises the most outstanding comedy festival show.

Amongst the 2018 nominees are Aussie favourites Lano & Woodley and Celia Pacquola, as well as US comedian Natalie Palamides and Anne Edmonds' alter-ego, Helen Bidou, who we both gave five-star reviews to last week.
