Prophets Of Rage On 'Bozo' Donald Trump: 'He's Not The Cause Of The Problem'
The band sat down with us to talk about the US President.
Given their very public stance on the current political landscape in America, you'd be forgiven for assuming the formation of Prophets Of Rage in 2016 was a direct response to Donald Trump running for US President.
However, appearing as special guests on this week's The Music Podcast With Dave & Neil while in Sydney, frontman B-Real and drummer Brad Wilk said the US supergroup coming together was more of a response to what is happening in America right now.
"Our sole purpose wasn't to get together and fight Trump," Wilk said.
"Honestly, if Hillary [Clinton] had won, it would still be the same fucking thing; it'd be big business running the country as usual and there'd be more people still with the wool pulled over their eyes. I think that the silver lining in Trump is that it woke a lot of people up."

B-Real added that Trump getting into the White Office was a huge turning point.
"A lot of people sat on their hands during the election figuring that it was an alley-oop to Hillary; that she was just going to take that because it's a life-long politician versus the bozo," the Cypress Hill rapper said.

"The bozo had a better strategy to win and the people didn't trust the life-long politician. That strikes a chord in the heart of America when half of the country is split between a bozo and a life-long politician.
"Some people are, 'Well, I'm not gonna vote for either' and the bozos are like, 'Well, were not gonna fucking vote for Hilary, we're gonna vote for him'.
"[Trump] pretty much stole an election through distrust, dishonesty and people feeling resentment towards our politicians.
"Realistically, we got together to speak against all that shit, all of them. Because none of them really have our best interests as a people, their best interests that they're looking at for is the people that they do business with…
"We would have been doing this regardless. It's just that Trump made it so much easier to be a target and people expect us to target him, but he's just part of the problem, he's not the cause. The problem's been here before him. He's just the guy exasperating it right now."
